GRAND AMERICAN DECORATING WITH AMELIA HANDEGAN

It is always a pleasure to see where things that you sell end up. In the June issue of Architectural Digest there is a  piece titled AMERICAN REVIVAL. It is about the restoration of a house called Rose Hill in the Rappahannock Valley in Virginia, USA.

With Photographs by Pieter Estersohn.

"In rural Virginia, designer Amelia Handegan brings élan to an artfully refurbished plantation house"

Dating from the 18th century this beautiful house is now fully restored. In a guest bedroom Amelia has used a large early 19th century French gouache which hangs to great effect behind the mahogany four poster bed.

Dating from circa 1820 this was a painting that I loved it has tremendous charm and it is a delight to see it looking so good in it's new home.

ANTIQUE BLUE LINENS IN PARIS & NEW IN THE SHOP

The antiques fair held in the Place de  Bastille in Paris starts next week and runs from the 8th - 20th May. My colleague France Lasserre will be exhibiting her blue antique linens.........

Mean while back on the King's Road we have just hung this large set of 12 mid 18th century Vue d'Optique framed in painted frames the colours inspired by the contemporary Zograscope that I bought with the prints when I found them.

Nancy has now settled in her basket is under the desks however sometimes a girl needs a little reassurance and extra love during the working day

We are now off for the long week end and the weather is wonderful.................
